Hi everyone!
I'm totally new to the forum as I had no idea there was an Inkscape Forum! I've been working with Inkscape and GIMP exclusively for a couple of years now and I love Inkscape. I won't say I'm an expert but I've certainly used it that much that I have now decided to start my own freelance studio called KOO Studios (koostudios.com) in Brisbane, Australia. I hope to actually start a tutorial blog on drawing in Inkscape and other graphic design goodies (I love inspiration posts) on the same site.
My first question to you the rest of you Inkscapers is why isn't there the same kinds of blogs with heaps and heaps of tutorials on them like Illustrator? I think we should all have our own tutorial sites and band up in a network. Just my two cents.
Anyways, I will keep exploring the site!

Hi Everyone!
Re: Hi Everyone!
Welcome to the forum!
I'd say there's a growing number of Inkscape tutorials, although it would be hard to reach Illustrator level in that area...
looky here http://inkscapetutorials.wordpress.com/
I agree there should be much more!

Welcome KOO
Also don't miss the heathenx/screencasters' video tutorials (link in my sig).
I think tutorials seem to be sparse because Inkscape is still rather new in its development. But if you browse the Tricks and Tutorials forum, you'll see more and more people are starting up their own sites of tutorials and/or blogs (note: http://verysimpledesigns.com/ and http://www.learndigitaldesign.com/ as a couple examples).
Nice idea. For me, I find it frustrating to have tutorials all over the place (I probably need to improve my searching skills), and would rather have a single site that lists and links to them all (sort of a la GIMP Talk).

Re: Hi Everyone!
Meh, Was koostudios.com designed with Inkscape? If so I must say I'm very impressed. I don't see many decent web designs with people who use inkscape.

Re: Hi Everyone!
Thank you for the welcomes prkos and brynnn. I hope to be reasonably active in this forum as graphic design, especially with Inkscape, is a passion for me.
Thank you for showing me the Inkscape tutorial blogs. They have given me great inspiration in starting my own (which I haven't started yet - I'm still theming my own tumblr blog). I also meant that we have a network in that we're all linked to each other, not necessarily in the same place. Something like the Smashing Network.
Yes, the visual elements of koostudios.com are made completely in Inkscape but some of the things in my portfolio are made from GIMP and its all stitched together using HTML and CSS coded in Geany. So all FOSS applications for me.
And yes, I don't see very good web designs from Inkscapers, not to say they aren't talented because some really are but I just don't think they show off as much.
