Recently noticed that new(ish) topics with attachments indicate that the attachments have been downloaded many more times than the topic has been viewed. e.g. A topic with 28 views has an attachment downloaded 56 times.

I doubt that 28 viewers have downloaded the attachment twice (approx).

So, something is amiss... Maybe the counters are just wrong. But if there is a bot repeatedly downloading attachments, that may significantly inflate the bandwidth used by the site.

Yes, saw that too.

In this topic, the attachment was downloaded 100+ times when the topic was viewed 24 times only.
Now the download is at 117 and the pageview counter at 48.
