I have some designs that I need to save for print (stationary, t-shirts, wall prints, etc). How should I do this? I am currently saving all my work in the default setting (I belive it's an Inkscape svg file). I need others who do not have Inkscape to be able to use my files.

Your best bet is to save them as PDF.

Note that not everything that you can do in Inkscape will convert to PDF so you may need to avoid using some features.
