I know I'm stupid but how to copy and paste?
Yeah, so I'm new at this so please give me a break okay?
Well, I have to do this project for school and I'm having trouble with copying and pasting these duplicated layers of junk. It took me a long time just to do this crappy section and I really don't want to redo it 23 more times so HELP ME POR FAVOR! AGH! I've been working on this for hours and every time I right click the section that I accomplished to copy it, the copy comes out as one of the duplicated layers! How do I combine it into one image so I can copy the whole thing down and get it over with. Sorry I sound like a freak. I'm just so tired!!!!! :O

Hi SkipBeat15,

Welcome to InkscapeForum!
OK, take a moment, take a couple of deep breaths, do not hyperventilate, and just try to find a moment of peace
We can work this out! Also no worries -- if folks here are nothing else, they're polite and helpful....and definitely not judgemental. But OH!.....we're so much more
First, I think we will need a little clarity, or at least I do, lol. When you right-click to copy, what are you clicking on? What is selected when you right-click? You say that it copies the whole layer? The only way that would happen is if you have the entire layer either grouped objects or combined paths.....unless you have used Select All or Ctrl + A. You need to have selected only what you want copied.
If you're totally overwhelmed, you're welcome to upload your SVG file to your next reply, and we can download, and have a look at it for you. But still, I think we need more info regarding exactly what you're trying to copy and what you're trying not to copy. If you don't upload the file, maybe a screenshot would be helpful. And also what's the ultimate goal
