Text on Outer Circle

Postby MRPRO03 » Wed Apr 29, 2009 2:07 am

I want to put text on a circle, but from left to right instead of the default right to left, I want to use 1 circle only, instead of 2 as the example in the tutorial shows.

Thanks

Text always goes from left to right, at least for English :) Can you clarify?

Are you referring to the tutorial at the bottom of this page - the Inkscape GuideFAQsInkscape Mailing ListReport a bug or request a feature

A little error by me there :D

When you put text on a path of a circle, it goes from left to right as default, but I want the bottom half of the circle to go from left to right. In the current conditions the text us upside down.

Could you not mirror the text (both horizontally and vertically) and then put it along the path? You would have to convert the text to a path and then use the Effects -> Generate from path -> Pattern along path.

I've just tried it and if I understand your question correctly it does what you want.

If it's something symmetric like a circle. You can put the text on the top then do a flip around the horizon then vertically and it will read the right way.
