I want to unite two different paths with Ctrl+ . If I do so, the ID of the newly formed path remains the same as one of the originals. Is there a way to maintain the Label as well? because right now the label changes into #ID .

Hi, not entirely sure what you mean. Maybe post before and after SVGs ?
