I wanna send an SVG file from Inkscape on one computer to another computer that has Inkscape installed on it. The image is a logo with blurred drop shadows and gradients. Up to now, I was trying to send SVG files to a client that did not have Inkscape. They only had Adobe Illustrator. The images arrived with no blurred shadows and no gradients. Is there anything special I should do when sending the SVG files as attachments from Inkscape TO Inkscape on another compouter?

Any help with this will be very much appreciated.

I send .svg files between Linux-inkscape and Windows-inskcape without any problems. And no special treatment.
Sending to illustrator is different. Send an exported .ai, .eps or .pdf as well as the .svg, to be on the safe side.

Be sure to advise clients to "upgrade" from illustrator to inkscape.

Make a dropbox account and upload it to there. Then send the link to the people you want.

I'm looking at the svg file sent from INKSCAPE on my old computer to INKSCAPE on my new computer. The font didn't look the same. And now I notice that it's totally different!!! But it has the same name! Century Gothic 32! But wait!! There's that yellow-filled up-side-down triangle with an exclamation mark inside! That means something's wrong. I wondered why the TOP line of text didn't change until I remembered that I changed that text to a path. Maybe I should do the same with this bottom line? Or can you tell me the right way of making sure the logo that arrives in INKSCAPE on the new system, is exactly the same as the one on the old system.

It looks different because

• You don't have the same fonts installed on both computers.
• You use a different program to open your files, odds are that filters doesn't behave equal in both programs.
