I have been adjusting the file size to export to the size I want. So I need to make the image 1026x256 to get 1024x256 and when I check the exported png file properties later they are correct 1024x256.
I am doing this because my png files have to be to the power of 2 i.e. 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, etc. Does anyone know why Inkscape does this?

My guess it is possible either if the dimensions of the vector drawing or the proportions aren't right.
If the original is about 1023,5/256,55, that you set at the export panel to be 256 in height, that may made the width 1022.
Can't think of an intentional 2 pixel cutoff from the width.
Maybe there is a difference between the exporting area and the canvas size?
