Symmetrically curved lines

Postby AzurCloud » Mon Oct 24, 2011 1:46 am

Hi!

I am currently working on a logo which largely consists of a triangle shape. However, I would like to curve the outward lines on both the right and left side, and I would like to curve them equally much. I've tried googling for ideas and I've also searched this forum, but so far I haven't been able to find the answer. Therefore I thought I'd ask you guys? Any ideas ...?

All the best ;)!

Welcome to InkscapeForum!

Hhhmm...do you want the lines curved or the corners rounded? Either way, I would suggest learning about the Star tool :tool_star: . Set it to polygon, rather than star, and set the Corners to 3. Then by dragging the handles while holding Shift or Alt key (depending on the effect you want) you can round either the lines and/or the corners. In Help menu > Tutorials > Shapes, you can learn the basics. Or also Help menu > Inkscape manual (with an internet connection), you can find instructions.

If the Star tool doesn't do what you want, could you post us a screenshot of the effect you're trying to achieve?

You can also with clones. Draw one line/side and clone it then flip the clone horizontally.

As you edit the one, the other will remain symmetrical.
