imported pdf -> editing text

Postby capponz » Mon May 09, 2016 3:59 pm

Hi guys,
I use Inkscape 0.91 on a Mint 17.3 platform.
I imported a pdf file and every line line is an 'object'... so far so good.
then I try to add some text to an existing text...
choosing the text tool, placing the cursor somewhere in the text and try to write.
every letter I type is placed on top of each other but not spaced out.
I'm a beginner so please be gentle ;-)

thanks in advance!

Hi.

In the text menu select "remove manual kerns".
Also make sure the text has all the values set to 0 except for the spacing between the lines in the text tool's options which is at 1,25
(those are the default values).

thank you very much Lazur you made my day,
that did the trick.

is there a way to standard enable that? not to have to click it for every single line.

thanks again !

You are welcome!

To remove manual kerns all at once, select all objects before by Ctrl+A.

Hi again,
To remove manual kerns all at once, select all objects before by Ctrl+A.

unfortunately that doesn not work. unsuccessfully tried a few hours to find a work around. :(

Might need to Select All > Ungroup first?

yay, found a solution ....there ->
http://www.inkscapeforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=18972

select one text object than:
select one of them then use Edit > Select Same > Object Type to hit them all at once.
