I tried to write in chinese in Inkscape, and it just does not work (Via X11 on my mac). Does there exist a Chinese language version of Inkscape? It´s a 1.3 billion market - most of them using Correldraw. YEK! And - you just can´t tell them to use the English version. They don´t speak it.

Just select a font which supports that character range.

In Preferences (under File Menu), select Interface - Language
