How do you accurately position gradient points?
Hi. Is there any way i can put a gradient point right in the centre of the page or specify where i want it on the x and y axis? Perhaps like an 'align and distribute' feature for gradient points, if it exists. Thanks for any help!!

Hi!
Apply grid (shift+3) and if needed adjust it... that should solve the precise positioning.
Of course, snapping should be also active to make positioning easier.

Hi Steviewonders,
There may be a few ways to do it. I think I would put a horizontal guide and vertical guide at the middle of the X and Y axis. Then where they intersect is the center of the page. Then I would enable snapping (Snap nodes and handles, Snap to guides). This will allow you to place the gradient handle precisely in the center of the page. Or you could use a grid and snapping to precisely place anywhere on the page.
That's assuming that by "gradient point" you mean either of the handles (beginning or ending) as opposed to the stops. To place the stops accurately, you can open the Gradient Editor, where you'll find a slider, and also a field where you can enter a precise offset value for the stops. Or you can also snap the stops to a grid or guides.
I don't think Align/Distribute works on gradient stops.

Re: How do you accurately position gradient points?
Thanks very much for the responses. I've tried shift+3 but i'm having no luck. Also i'm not sure how to insert guides. I'm pretty new with this.

You can also enable the grid by: View menu > Grid. This will display the default grid. You can customize it in Document Properties > Grid. (You don't type the "+". This might be a helpful way to show the shortcut Shift + 3. Also, if you're not on Windows, some shortcuts may be different. Many forum topics on that, so forum search should turn up details. You can also create your own custom shortcuts, although not for all of them. See Help menu > Keys and Mouse Ref)
Guides aren't created in the same way. To make a guide, put the cursor/pointer over either the horizontal or vertical ruler. Then click and drag onto the canvas. If you grab on the ruler near the ends, you might get a 45 degree angled guide. So just grab in the middle areas. To place the guide accurately, hover the mouse over it until it changes color. It's a little tricky, but not too bad. Then double-click and a little dialog window opens. There you can enter the proper values to place the guide in the center of the page (or wherever).
