Help converting PDF to dxf for Craft Robo Master

Postby Oceanastar » Mon Jul 25, 2011 1:22 am

I have been trying for a day to convert a PDF file to a dxf file that Craft Robo Master will recognize. I've tried several fixes that I've found throughout the forum and on the internet but nothing has worked, from what I can tell I am missing some steps. I purchased the file from Silhouette, saved it as a PDF, I can open it in Inkscape but when I save it as a dxf the file is only 1kb, what am I doing wrong?

Welcome to InkscapeForum!

I'm not familiar with Silhouette, or purchasing files there. Is it possible to save it in another file format from the start? Like SVG or DXF?

Aside from being only 1 kb in size, what is the problem with the file? What happens when you try to cut it? Any error messages? I realize that being only 1 kb in size, something bad must have happened to it. But the size alone doesn't tell us anything about it. Can you provide any additional info?

After you open the PDF in Inkscape, I'm assuming you do some sort of editing....or not? After opening the PDF, try saving as SVG first, then as DXF. Does that help at all, with whatever the problem is?
