Board game extension

Postby ultracougar » Sun Mar 23, 2014 3:17 pm

Hi guys, I recently download the board games extension and used it to make a hex grid. I'm doing alright with making my board game map, but it is fairly big, and my plan was to divide it into perhaps 4, or 9 sections, that each could be printed off unto 1 sheet of paper, and then I'd just tape the pieces of paper together.

What would be the easiest way of taking my my map and dividing it into equal sections? And also ensuring that when it prints, it fits nicely on the paper.

If there are margins, it shouldn't be too big of a deal, I can always use scissors to cut it to where it needs to be, but I just printed a test hex grid off and it gave it really weird margins, like lots of space on the bottom, but cut off on the top and sides.

Thanks!

Edit: I should probably make it clear I haven't begun to make it yet. I've realized that the hex grid is just layed over top of the actual page in inkscape, and thats what is printed on the paper. Is there anyway to have multiple pages per inkscape document? I just want to be able to lay them side by side and see if it works.

I don't know what would be the best way to do this with Inkscape itself. What I always end up doing is create the image, export it as PNG, and then use Posterazor (http://posterazor.sourceforge.net) to create a PDF with the different pages that I can then print normally and glue together.
