Trouble with making a spiropath using a shape from clipboard

Postby SineWave » Mon Apr 13, 2015 8:51 am

I made a medium sized circle and pasted it to the clipboard. I then used the Bezier tool set to spiropath and the shape on from clipboard. However, when I drew my line, curving it with the bezier, it completely filled in the stroke. I've checked path effects, and there is no options there that have helped me. Here is a screenshot of my problem.

The circle on the top left corner is the object I pasted on the clipboard. The large blob in the center is the spiropath I drew in the center, but instead of using the circle, and filled in the edges. Also, if its of any relevance, I use a mac.

Hello,

Check your live path effect panel. You must have:
1- Spiro spline
2-Pattern along path

The fill must have color, not the stroke

If you could share your SVG, it could give more info to others.

About the MAC detail... well... who knows? Please consult the bug related pages that are shown on inkscape.org
If you have problems:
1.- Post a sample (or samples) of your file please.
2.- Please check here:

3.- If you manage to solve your problem, please post here your solution.

On OS X, make sure that you have changed the X11 preferences for the Pasteboard as recommended (e.g. on the mac-os download page); otherwise the data on the clipboard cannot be used for the path effect.
