An obvious teaser and, quite possibly, a mocker

Re: Geometry Constructions
WOW! I'm an engineer and I will be definitely using it extensively. The only bad thing is that I need this kind of functionality now... for my book/paper. Can you give a heads up in this topic when a build with those features will be available?

Re: Geometry Constructions
Isn't there an option to enable it when compiling for the impatient ones?

Re: Geometry Constructions
This geometry tool seems like it could be an excellent addition to Inkscape. If it was rejected because the powers that be felt it didn't work right, then a good response would be to zero in on exactly what their objections were and then adjust the code of the geometry tool to try to nullify the objections.

Re: Geometry Constructions
Maybe the Geometry tool could be made available as a plugin extension? A good place to make it available might be at http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php ... repository.
Re: Geometry Constructions
No. The Geometry Tool is completely based on LivePathEffects and has no relation to (script) extensions listed in the wiki. Extensions ≠ plugins; and LivePathEffects are not like plugins either. The tool has to be enabled at compile time.scruffyeagle wrote:Maybe the Geometry tool could be made available as a plugin extension? The sources for the Geometry tool have not been rejected - the tool has been disabled in release versions on request of its author (search the archives of the 'inkscape-devel' mailing list for details).scruffyeagle wrote:If it was rejected because the powers that be felt it didn't work right, (…)
You know the answer: patches are welcome ;)scruffyeagle wrote:(…) then a good response would be to zero in on exactly what their objections were and then adjust the code of the geometry tool to try to nullify the objections.

Re: Geometry Constructions
Unfortuanetely the link is broken. Is there anyone who uses these tools despite the fact they never made to a stable release? I hope they will not be lost forever. Seems to me the video (and the article of course) by LibreGrapicsWorld.org are very convincing. I hope somebody can tell more about the project, and tell if there will be a release in which they will come to life again.
