dxf exporter

Postby lik2waterski » Wed Jun 27, 2012 8:00 am

I am new to Inkscape. I have downloaded ver .48.02, I am running it on a mac ver 10.7.4
I am trying to save a file as dxf.
It says "The fantastic lxml wrapper for libxml2 is required by inkex.py and therefore this extension. Please download and install the latest version from http://cheeseshop.python.org/pypi/lxml/, or install it through your package manager by a command like: sudo apt-get install python-lxml"
I have download an extension called "lxml-2-1.3.4.tar" I don't know where to put it. Can someone help me with the location and instruction on how to make this work?
Thank you
Travis

Welcome to InkscapeForum! :D

Someone else had that problem recently. Since I don't use a Mac, I don't remember the answer. You could try searching the forum. I expect "fantastic lxml wrapper" as search terms, should turn it up. If you find it, but if it doesn't answer your question, just reply again, and say why.

Known issue: python-based extensions (dxf export is one of them) fail with Inkscape 0.48.2 on OS X 10.7.4 Lion
(see also this recent topic: Re: Using Extension "Restack" on Mac OSX 10.7 (Lion))
