Inkscape works well on Puppy, but you may find solutions to two issues useful

Firstly, the Inkscape extensions won't work without loading Python. Secondly, the alt-click 'Select Under' feature requires configuration of the mouse bindings (not possible on JWM, but is on OpenBox ; -) )
