i try to draw shapes ... i get nothing, just the selection box but the shape never appears ..

my goal is to place text inside of circle - rather, wrapped around the inside of the circle ... i cant even see the circle!?...

im on a mac, feeling slightly dumb .... SOS!...

What colors did you assign to your circle's fill or stroke? What is the object opacity and the alpha of fill and stroke colors? You probably made it transparent.

Try switching to "outline mode": View=>Display Mode=>Outline

If you can see your shapes in outline mode, but not in normal mode, then prkos's reply is almost certainly correct: your shapes have a transparent fill and stroke set (or one that matches the background colour).
