Invisible circle/ellipses

Postby condight » Sun May 22, 2016 2:00 am

I pressed some button and don't know how to reverse it. Now my circles or ellipses (whichever) are not visible. How do I change it back?

And while I'm here, I would like to know how to thicken the outlines on the circle/ellipses. That's what I was trying to do when I changed something.

Try the fill and stroke panel (Shift+Ctrl+F) maybe?

Opacity&alpha values at 100% and 255, stroke added, then stroke style with wider stroke.

Or maybe you switched the layer's visibility off at the bottom?

Not a visibility problem. Neither opacity. I'm a noob so I don't know what alpha you're referring to.

There is a slider at the fill value.
Pixels rendered have rgba channels -red, green, blue, alpha, where alpha controls the opacity of the colour.

Well these are all just guessing anyway.
What does the bottom indication says when the object is selected?
Did you check the drawing in outlines only display mode (Ctrl+5 on the numpad twice)?
Can you show a screenshot?
Can you share the file in question?

Well.... In your first message, you said something was not visible. Then next, you said it's not a visibility problem. That makes us really confused :D

If you were trying to make the line wider, you might have accidentally made to have zero width. Fill and Stroke dialog > Stroke Style tab > Width. Make sure it's not zero. Try 1.0 or more. (One might be tempted to wonder why it's possible to make a line with zero width. But in Inkscape, there is a need for it....

Here's a tutorial that might help for possible transparency (or alpha, visibility, opacity, hidden, or etc.) issues: http://forum.inkscapecommunity.com/inde ... article=18
And here's just a simple FAQ that might have a tip: http://forum.inkscapecommunity.com/inde ... ;article=5

If you still can't find the problem, as Lazur suggested, please share the SVG file with us. You can attach it to your message by using "Post Reply" button, instead of Quick Reply. Or upload it somewhere else, and give us the link.

Okay, here is a file. I don't know if that'll make you see my problem because it's seems to be something that was changed on my Inkscape.

I uploaded a video on youtube.

Opacity was at 0%, fill alpha value at 205 instead 255.

Okay, that solved it. Thanks a million.
