Hi.
I need to align two nodes, but keeping one of them fixed in its position. I read in a tutorial that I could do it selecting the node I want to keep fixed the last of all, but it doesn't works.
For objets alignment there is a selection box with this options: last selected, first selected, biggest object, smallest object, selection, etc. But for nodes alignment there is not anything similar.
Thanks!

Re: Align nodes
try snap to path turned on and move the desired node close to the one you want it on. it will snap to the node.

Yes, it's a know missing feature (which was partially available in the old node tool of Inkscape 0.47). There's work in progress to add more alignment options for nodes (hopefully available in the next major release).
To achieve "align two nodes, but keeping one of them fixed in its position" manually, I'd probably use guides as drawing aides:
- drop (snap) a horizontal (or vertical) guide through the node to stay fixed,
- then -while still in the node tool context- drag the other node with 'Ctrl' pressed (constrained movement along the x- and y- direction) and let it snap to the guide
Re: Align nodes
Than you very much for both of you.
I'm just starting to learn how to use inkscape, and you have discovered me snapping and guides: so useful!! And they solve my problem!
What a great program.
Thanks again!
