I agree... Some of those are really weird. Sauron's Eye?!? The overly complex ethno style? The cassette player logo? A boring, overcomplex wireframe? The impossible M with too many dots? The cardboard evolution?

The one with the :// is my favourite. Simple, with a connection to the purpose of the thing, and with some real recognition value.

Edit: Only now read the comments... Seems other people see the same as I do.

I agree with all of you so far.

The "less ugly" is the Protocol idea, but it's because I find it is the simplest, the type font seems very "straight", "vertical", "strict" . The Eye idea kind of simple too,... but I think I don't like the colors. The others, are very ingenious but overcomplicated as Moini mentions.

But perhaps my opinion is influenced by mi little knowledge of graphic design.

I wonder which will be the opinion of other kind of users, school boys or girls, from other professions, etc.

The connector... it's in 3rd place to me
