I installed the following version:

Inkscape 0.47 r22583, built Nov 21 2009

I did not uninstall 0.46 inkscape (maybe its not possible to have both 0.46 plus 0.47 installed?)

Problems:

1. Wacom Tablet does not work
Even so I changed the settings in "file"-> "input devices"

2. Inkscape generates the following "extension-errors.log"-file:
"Extension "Dia Input" failed to load because a dependency was not met.

Can you help me to get 0.47 running properly?

I had the same tablet problem, and went to File>Input Devices. Apparently by default it was set to disabled under tablet pressure stylus. I had to change it to screen mode for it to work properly.

Thanks Klomp123; I had almost given up to get my tablet working.
Setting screen mode to "screen" did not work at first. I had to toggle the device settings back and forth to finally get it activated.
It seems buggy.
