I'm sure I mentioned this before in another thread, that the current SVG standard doesn't support multiple pages. Anything Inkscape does today to create multiple pages will not present properly in any other application that support SVG. But the next version of SVG will support multiple pages, and I'm pretty sure that the developers have agreed among themselves that when it's a part of the standard they'll support it.

I agree. I don't know what it is about vector that makes people want multiple pages. Nobody questions that raster formats don't support multiple pages (except TIFF, but most applications don't support it). If you want a multi-page bitmap, you create two files and put them in a page layout application--nobody questions that. Yet raster and vector are both just image formats. Of course it doesn't bother me that multi-page support is enivitable.
