Hello,
I'm new to Inkscape. For a long period of time I just fooled around in Microsoft Paint, but that was not even close to being up to par with work I want to produce. Anyway, I was wondering if it is possible to create varying hues, saturations, and values of colors as it is possible to do in MS Paint. For example, under the "Edit Colors" option on MS Paint there is a slide bar of sorts that allows you to select a color from the full array of colors, and then adjust value accordingly. All I have been able to figure out in Inkscape is only being able to select colors from ones that already exist on the scrollbar at the bottom of the window. I've found that those colors often do no suit my needs. If some one could provide information on how to create custom colors in Inkscape, that would be much appreciated. Thank you.

hi, and welcome!
You're going to love Inkscape, it can choose any color you want, just go to the Fill and Stroke menu. Select your object and then you can make it and/or it's stroke any color you want. I usually choose the color wheel, it's so easy to pick colors from there.
I also suggest that you take some of the basic tut(orials) that are in the manual and YouTube has some invaluable tuts to follow to get the basis of learning Inkscape. Also, there are numerous websites, blogs and sites to learn the basics - you'll love it! Just so a seach here on the forum and you'll get a lot of new resources. I suspect you'll not go back to MS Paint!
It does take a bit of time to learn the 'ropes' here, but once you do it, PRICELESS.
oh, just have to say, love your avi name, he he he, esp since I've caught the last few episodes where they are trying to spot a real, live sasquatch.
