Hi I apologise first for such a stupid question but I am baffled as to how to solve my problem.
I was using inkscape yesterday ( I am a total begginer so playing around would be better description) and all of a sudden any test I was writing came out writing backwards???
I have tried pressing various buttons to see if I can see what I have done but am at a loss and afraid I need help from much better people in the know.

Hoping someone can help.

Maybe this will already solve your problem:
Click on the text (using the selection tool, the topmost icon in the toolbox), then click on the icon that will mirror the selected object (it will look different for you than in the screenshot, I think the standard icon consists of two triangles separated by a vertical line) - you can also just press 'h' to mirror horizontally.


If any new text you create starts backwards, and you're not on some Arabic (or other RTL language) computer, then you should copy everything in the current layer, make a new one, paste everything, and delete the old layer.

If you have applied the text to a path, you need to reverse the path (Path menu > Reverse)

Nope neither of them are working

i've obviously clicked something because even if i open a new document it comes up exactly the same. As soon as I start typing the word is backwards.

Any other suggestions??

Ok solved my problem...i am a div and really can only apologize

Somehow I'd messed with spacing between letters and it was in negative numbers instead of positive.

Oh well I know next time
