DXF export issue (split from: please help- eclipse fill and stroke)

Postby buggy1114 » Sun Jan 14, 2018 2:03 pm

It worked! I had my opacity set to 0. I feel silly now, but so glad it was something so easy. Thanks for the help! Tyler, you seem very knowledgable with this program. Would you mind if I ask you a question regarding dxf? If not feel free to ignore! It's not vital just something that bugs me. When I save a file as dxf, some of my fonts are as they should be and just show the outlines, while a few letters will sometimes have fill instead of outline. I make sure everything is ungrouped and broken apart before saving, but still sometimes get this.

Best to provide an example svg and the resulting dxf.
Have a nice day.

I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1

The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/

It says inkscape 0.92
Mac High Sierra Version 10.13.2

This is what is happening when saving as dxf, and then trying to load to design space. Trying to figure out why some are filled and some are not. I will try what you recommended above and see if that helps.

You can put the files in a zip-file and attach like this.

PS
The entire Inkscape version and build number can be easily copied and pasted from the top right of the Help>About window to the forum reply page and we can then know precisely which version you are using.

@buggy, feel free to share some examples.

Another resource you might enjoy is Kay's blog: http://cleversomeday.com/

Kay knows both Inkscape and DS.

Moderation note:
I've split this from the original topic (viewtopic.php?f=5&t=33331) as the discussion had veered off the original topic. There were some posts back and forth about whether the question should have been raised in a new topic: as the split has rendered that part of the discussion moot, I have deleted the posts in question to avoid any confusion to users reaching this topic without being aware of the history of it.
