Hi,
I apologize in advance. I am brand new to Inkscape and have spent the better part of the day trying to recreate a logo for an embroidery file...
I am now trying to wrap the top part of the text around the logo...
But because I tweaked some of the letters of the text...now when i select the text it shows it as: Group of 1 object in layer 1.
When I create my circle and the object to path...when I select the text to put on path, it doesn't work. Is that because this is an object instead of text now? If so, How do i convert the object back to text in order to curve it?
any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Re: Curving Text. Cant change object back to text...
Text along path will only work with real texts, not texts that have been turned to path, and also not with groups.
So, first of all, ungroup. Ctrl+U.
When you ungroup (may need to be done a couple of times, depending upon what you did with the text) and you get, in the end, a text object (see status line), then you can do 'Text on Path'.
If, on the other hand, you get multiple objects, that are just paths, and no editable text anymore, then you cannot use that feature. It only works with texts.
You can either:
- Type the text again, put it on the path, the do your modifications.
- Use another feature, like Pattern along Path, after combining all the letters into a single path. This will, however, warp the letters, and not just rotate them to sit on the curvature.

Something doesn't work? - Keeping an eye on the status bar can save you a lot of time!

Oh, you posted the SVG in the meantime. Definitely the 'Text was turned to paths' issue, then. Retype it, or use Pattern along Path.

Re: Curving Text. Cant change object back to text...
I tired to ungroup. Unfortunately, it will not go back to a text object
If you see the text in the original logo...the first letters are a little bigger. How would I achieve this?

How do I resize the letters and keep it as text object?
Re: Curving Text. Cant change object back to text...
You can change the font size for each letter separately. Select the letter, and set a different font size for it.

Re: Curving Text. Cant change object back to text...
I clicked on the text icon. drug out a box. Typed the company name. Then how do I change each letter?
I tried selecting it and then ungrouping but that didn't work.

If you happen to speak German, this is for you:
http://vektorrascheln.de/posts/2016/May ... text4.html
For the bottom text, you may need to reverse the direction of the path for the text to sit on the opposite side. Path -> Reverse.
(Tip: if you don't need flowed text, then better don't create your text by dragging out a box. Just click and start typing. This produces normal, not-flowed text).
