I have opened a .png file in Inkscape and added some vector graphics on top of the .png. However, when I save the image as an .eps, the vector objects lose quality. I realize that the .png part of the image will remain rasterized, but shouldn't the vector objects remain high-quality when I save as an .eps? Is there some option I should be aware of when opening the .png or saving the .eps?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Loss of Quality for Vector Objects when Combining with P
Hi.
As far as I know current inkscape versions cannot save eps with transparency -produces black rectangles instead?- and gradients -maybe causing the rasterisation of the vectors.
If you are in need of the gradients, you may try to use clipping -use the right vector shapes as clipping objects on raster(ised) gradients.
