Hi All, I am new to this forum. I have been using Inkscape for a couple of months. I would say I am an intermediate user. I was wondering if Inkscape can do 3D Logos such as in this Adobe Illustrator Video below. Can someone show me how I may be able to do that or point me to a tutorial.

3D Sphere Logos
Re: 3D Sphere Logos
Hi.
If you are looking for an accurate solution, you can model such logo in 3D and "import it" as an obj.
For example this steel structure was made in blender, exported to an obj, then loaded with the render 3D polyhedron extension.
Another way would be to texture a model in blender, render it to a png, then trace it after in inkscape.
If you are good at math, you may use the function plotter/parametric curves extension, to plot parallel projections of a loxodrome for a similar grid in the video.
Other solutions would be even more manual and/or less accurate.
What exactly are you after? This logo idea is a bit overused as far as I know; you may make a better image with less effort in my humble opinion.

Re: 3D Sphere Logos
Thanks for the reply..Definitely overused for sure, I just wanted to know how to do it or if there was a way
Re: 3D Sphere Logos
An example what modelling and the render 3D polyhedrons extension can do:

obj and blend files here
Not a loxodrome as I first thought, and it could be improved, but good for an example.
