Tabbed box maker line size?

Tabbed box maker line size?

I'm having trouble using the tabbed box maker extension. Every time i make a box, the line size defaults to .011. For laser cutting, the line size has to be .001, and when you change that, it obviously changes the tolerances of the box. Any tips on the kerf size/ clearance options to make a friction fit box?

Not sure if this helps (I know virtually nothing about laser cutting), but there is a second extension for making boxes, that also takes into account the thickness of the material (for paper).
It also produces open instead of closed paths. It's been written a few years ago by one of our forum users, and I've done some cleanup recently and put it up on github (license allowed it and user was unresponsive to emails):
