Image pixelated on Facebook - Why is this?

Postby chocwrap » Mon Oct 24, 2011 1:50 am

Hi there - I recently created a simple square shape using the create rectangles & squares tool.

I then applied some basic text to the box.

Then I uploaded the image to Facebook.

There was some pixelation in the background area, not the text itself.

I opened the same image in MS Office Picture Manager, and so sight of the pixelation. See attached image.

Can anyone suggest a reason fro the pixelation? I just don't understand it. I'm a relatively new student of Inkscape.

Caroline :)

Facebook probably compresses the image or changes format, I don't know if you can influence it but I wouldn't bet on it.
