Can't select a node..

Postby jpcamden » Fri Feb 19, 2010 11:28 am

Hey guys, just downloaded Inkscape. Finally got a nice laptop and been wanting to learn how to do vector art. The program's awesome, I've done a couple tutorials but now I'm having a problem. It's probably an uber easy fix, I just don't know everything yet.

I'm doing this tutorial on how to make a flower and everything's fine. But I make a rectangle and when I go to delete one of the nodes, I can't even select the node. In fact there's only 3. One's a circle and 2 are squares. But I can't select one. I'm supposed to select one and delete it so I can make a petal or something. Anyway, any help is appreciated.

That's because currently it's a rectangle object so can only be edited as a rectangle. To get full control over the shape, select it and go to Path > Object to path.

I knew it was something really simple. Just too many buttons, haha. Thanks a lot. You can delete this if you want, save some space, or let someone else learn from my mistakes. :D
