Change font size in Inkscape (portable) for windows

Postby 3×5 » Mon Jul 30, 2012 7:08 am

Hi, I would like to make a simple UI tweak to Inkscape. The fonts are too small for me. I am running the portable version, and I'm wondering if there's a place in my GTK prefs where I can bump up the font size.

Also, I would like to replace the default icons with the artlibre ones, but that's not as essential. Thanks.

Welcome to InkscapeForum!

I'm not familiar with the portable version of Inkscape. But as far as I understand, it's basically the same as the non-portable version. So that's my rationale for trying to answer this, lol.

But I'm not clear what you're asking. If you want to change the font size of text on the canvas, just select the text and use the Text tool, and either on the control bar or Text and Font dialog, increase the size.

Or do you mean that the way fonts are displayed in the dropdown menu on the control bar, when Text tool is engaged (or in Text and Font dialog) is too small? I guess I wouldn't mind if that display was a little larger. But yes, you'd have to change some code, somewhere. And someone else will have to offer instructions for that :D

I'm referring to the latter. Inkscape uses GTK to render the menus and other parts of the user interface. I would like to bump up the font size in gtk.
