Opera 9.5 introduces impoved SVG support

Postby microUgly » Tue Jun 26, 2007 12:04 pm

Kestrel is coming!
Opera 9.5 contains more than a year of improvements on the rendering engine. This includes improved CSS3 support (text-shadow anyone ), superior SVG support and a brand new javascript engine with support for ECMAScript 4 'getters' and 'setters'.

Opera 9.5 isn't out yet, even the weekly builds haven't started arriving. But it's nice to know Opera is giving so much support to SVG in future version. I've personally found Opera 9.21 to be almost flawless in displaying my own SVG work compared with Firefox 2 which has trouble with a number of elements.

When it comes to launching and pure web speed Opera hands down appears to be the best even on a Windows system. But it also depends on which web pages you are visiting becomes sometimes I get a hiccup in terms of how long it takes for a page to load, but when I am browsing with Opera I fly.

On a side note i sometimes experience that hiccup here ;) , but I know it is still a new forum.

Please report these hiccups if you have details. The age of the forum should have no effect on it's stability. I believe most issues are caused by my host and because I can't access the error logs I'm looking to change hosts.
