Hello, everyone! For very complicated reasons, I need to obtain c. 300-400 dpi TIFF versions of images I have modified in Inkscape. I am working from TIFF files and need to export in the same format. Since Inkscape doesn't export TIFs, I assume the best chain of custody for the work I am doing is something like:
TIF (original file)
to
SVG with embedded TIF (the point where I modify)
to
PNG (exported from Inkscape)
to
TIF again (this is the step I need to arrive at)
That keeps all compression lossless at all points and ensures no degradation in the file. My original attempt to work this out consisted of converting the exported PNG to TIF using (wait for it) Microsoft Paint, but that is precisely as useless as you would imagine, Given that it only exports TIF at 96 dpi. So I think what I am asking is: what application or Inkscape extension can I use to arrive at a 300-400 dpi TIF file once I have tinkered with a file in Inkscape?
As a side note, is there any way to export a PNG at 300-400 dpi but also at a relatively small (say no greater than 3000 - 4000 pixels square) resolution?
Thanks in advance!

Re: TIFF
Hi.
In the spirit of open source software - have a look at ImageMagic - it will do what you want (and more).

Good Luck.

Re: TIFF
If not too confident with command line and Imagemagick can be simple or very complicated depending on action.
Maybe try Converseen http://converseen.faster3ck.net/
Based on Magick++ it is a simple batch converter/resizer so it is not going to convert that svg file to CMYK but it will easily convert it to tiff format
I use the linux, so it was already in the distribution repo but there is a Windows installer on their web site.

Re: TIFF
I believe this extension produces TIFFs -- viewtopic.php?f=11&t=5943. But I don't know if DPI is customizable.
