Export "artifact"

Postby Uktrunie » Sun Apr 01, 2012 5:14 am

Well, I didn't know what tittle to use... I have this SVG (attached) where I have one particular set of objects that don't get properly exported to PNG. Here's a picture of how it looks in Inkscape and in the PNG export:

Image

The white-ish parts are just one object of that color, so I don't see what can be wrong here. The most weird thing is that if I move the entire thing a little bit with the arrow keys or copy it to another image, then everything gets exported properly!

Image file (big one, the forum desn't allow me to attach it): http://dl.dropbox.com/u/70266302/Mazo.zip

Thanks for your time!

PD: Using Inkscape's last release in Win7 32 bits.

I didn't want this post to go by without some sort of answer.

I downloaded your file. It's very large making working in Inkscape a real challenge. I did the export with the same result.

This issue should be brought up with the Inkscape developers. Some developers do drop in but we've got a better chance they'll catch and fix the problem if posted directly with them than here.

Such rendering glitches (depending on zoom level and/or export resolution) with the old renderer (used in current stable versions) e.g. when exporting to PNG are well known and do not need to be reported again - the new renderer (available in the next major release, Inkscape 0.49) does no longer expose them:

Here are the exported files for comparison:
  1. Inkscape 0.48.2 (stable): Mazo-0482.png
  2. Inkscape 0.48.3.1 (stable): Mazo-04831.png
  3. Inkscape 0.48+devel r11259: Mazo-048+devel-r11259.png

... Actually, looking at those PNG I discovered more than one artifact with the old renderer.

So v0.49... hehehe. Nice, although at the speed I'm drawing this, Inkscape is going to be in version five hundred for when I finish it.

Thanks for the answers!

EDIT: BTW, I noticed some smmmmaaaalll differences in the filters with the old and new rendered, so ~suv, any info or link on this?
