Hullo, for some reasons i would like to use Inkscape.
When working with Adobe Illustrator, I save my file under .ai or .svg.
Then I open it with the last version of Inkscape.
Unfortunately my layers have disappeared (well I cannot find them) : instead of 5,6,7 or more, there is only one (they seem to have merged).
Is there a way to change that ang get my layers back ?
Cheers

Re: Importing layers from Adobe Illustrator
Try opening Inkscape first, then File menu > Import.
To be honest, I'm not sure if that will solve the problem, but I think it might

Inkscape cannot import the layer structure of AI PDF files.
Inkscape should however be able to read (or recreate) the (top-level) layers of AI SVG files (at least they should be present as groups if not visible in the 'Layers' dialog). If opening an AI SVG file in Inkscape seems to drop all document structure - could you attach an example original SVG document as saved by AI to allow to further investigate the issue?

Will this state of thing be changed in 0.48 or next version ? I actually work with a lot of Adobe User, and they send me ai files.
