Caligraphy tool - problem

Hi,
I have a problem with Caligraphy tool. When I "paint" a spot with this tool it is not uniform but looks like in the attachment. When I did the same thing on other computer the spot was uniformly black so I suppose that is a matter of settings. What should I change to be able to draw spots of uniform color? I have a version 0.48.4 r9939 and Windows 7.

Hi.

Change the fill rule of the path to non-zero.
