hi evreyone,
i m using linux x64(ubuntu)
i have few logo vectors which i need to extrude / animate in maya.
i tried exporting each n every option from inkscape but nothing simply works
in case of EPS, maya gives error : improper file
incase of AI, i know current exporter is compatible to illustrator v8. so maya can't import, same error as above
i read maya docs, it says, it needs / expects illustrator v3 compatible files
i opened a windows machine, open illustrator, export ai file and select v3 compatibility. it works like charm
can you please put an option in upcoming version of inkscape, to export that specific version, that would be great
also someone here might have find / discover a method which works. please do share
thanks in advance
regards, lala
inkscape vectors to autodesk maya issues
Re: inkscape vectors to autodesk maya issues
I would like to second this request.
I am sure this is important for many users of 3d software - it shouldn't, in my non-specialist opinion, be too difficult to provide a direct export format to Maya 3d - from my understanding, maya has both a binary and an ascii native file format. I would love to see this feature implemented!
