As I get older (now 72) the hand I write with shakes like hell and makes it impossible to right out advertising cards when I have something to sell. So I hit on the idea of scanning them into the computer and then import them into Inkscape and printing them out on cardboard the same thickness as the origanal cards.
Only problem is there realy large when you import them so you have to reduce there size to fit on the Inkscape page. I can get three cards on to the page with a squeeze but when it comes to printing the finished work the cards come out too small and not there origanal size.
Is there a way of getting them to print without loosing the origanal size.
Thanks.

Re: Print not coming out at the required size
How big is your Inkscape document? (check at File -> document properties)
What's your paper size?
How large is a card in Inkscape?
How large is a card in the printed output?
Does your printer have any fixed margins (e.g. laser printer)? Is there an option about margins that can be deactivated in your printing dialog? Is there an option of resizing the printout to the paper size that can be deactivated?

Re: Print not coming out at the required size
When I Import the card graphic its 14.85ins wide and 11.24ins high.
After I've resized it to get 3 cards into the A4 sheet (Inkscapes default size) the cards are 4.48ins wide and 3.40ins high.
But when I come to print them out they are the same size, 4.48ins wide and 3.40ins high.
3 cards isn't a must have number on a sheet of A4 paper. I could settle for two. I'm just trying to save card by doing it that way.
As the cards are going to be displaid in there own plastic pouches on a display board they are going to be cut into individual cards once printed.

If you can post a link to your file, we can better help with this issue.

Have a nice day.
I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1
The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/

Re: Print not coming out at the required size
I'm sorry, but I dont know how to do that.
By the way I bought the manual so tell me where inside it I might find the answer to my question and I can let you all get back to what ever you were doing before.

Re: Print not coming out at the required size
It depends on how you intend to work... I suggest setting the document to the size of the paper you are printing on, saving a copy as PDF and printing from Adobe Reader.
What size is the paper you are printing on, and what size do you want the cards?
Sharing a link to a file is straightforward:

Re: Print not coming out at the required size
Hi
All sorted using an old software program (Xara Xtreme Pro 5). I imported the scanned image and it sat on the page, but I was unable to get all 3 images in a row and settled with 2.
Came to printing and it printed out exactly the same size as the origanals. Very pleased with the results.
Thankyou all for your time and effort helping me.
Michael.
