My First Inkscape Project

Postby Tindytim » Fri Apr 11, 2008 3:57 am

I started with this image:

And made this:

The only issue I have so far is the C, I can't size the selected nodes and have to move them manually. I just though I would ask if there is a better way or a method to resize them all at once.

Any critiques?

Awesome. I used to love Sonic X, and I always loved the art style of the sonic adventure games (the shading was really good, like the paper mario art). Looks like you duplicated it really well. Just a couple suggestions:

-I noticed in the original that sonic's spikey hair is actually kind of rounded at the tips. You can change that by going into the stroke style and changing the join settings.
-The inside of the C could be a bit smoother I guess.

And for resizing the nodes, you want to resize only part of an object, correct? I'm not really sure how that can be done, if at all. That would be nice to know though.

Good work!

With the node tool :tool_node:, select all the nodes in the part you want to resize, then use > (or .) to increase size and < (or ,) to decrease size.

Alternatively, you can use Alt+> and Alt+< (or Alt+. and Alt+,) instead of > and <. With Alt+> and Alt+< you get an increase/decrease of one pixel, so that the effect depends on the zoom level (zoom in for fine adjustments).
