I try to save a star shape as HPGL. When I view the file with a text editor everything looks alright.

But:
Saving TEXT as hpgl (I draw text without filling it) seems to go wrong.
When I look at the file in a text editor, it looks like this:
IN;SP1;

Who can save text correctly as .hpgl? How should I do it?

Convert the text to path before saving a copy as *.hpgl file (use menu 'Path > Object to Path').

Depending on your workflow, keep the text as text in the original "Inkscape SVG" file, so that you can edit it as text later on, and only convert it to path before saving a copy as *.hpgl.
