"Where is XQuartz?" Making Inkscape function (MacOS 10.10)

Postby geronimo44 » Sat Feb 21, 2015 7:48 am

I just downloaded Inkscape for Mac and it won't even open the way its supposed to with all the tools and palettes. The only thing that comes up is a dialog box that says "Where is XQuartz?" and it asks me to choose one of the applications on my Mac. I have no idea what XQuartz is and even if I did, I wouldn't know which of the applications it uses and which it doesn't. Can anyone help me get this figured out so I can open Inkscape up and start learning? Thanks.

Ah, geez, sorry to bother. Thanks. I think I misread something on apple forums when I searched the problem. Seems like someone said XQuartz was automatic and had me thinking I didn't need to download it. I shoulda read the download page more carefully. My bad. But thanks.
