How to outline multiple objects?

Postby JustAnotherNoob » Sun Jan 02, 2011 12:47 am

Hi,

I would like to outline a group of objects.
I tried to create a single object with exact the same shape to achieve that, I tried intersection but that doesn't seem to work with a group of objects. Setting a clip creates the correct object but I can't set an outline to it then.
How can I do this right?

I can think of 2 ways. One is Path menu > Union. Or just use the clipping path that you created, and rather than use it to clip, assign it a stroke with no fill. There may be circumstances in your drawing which would make one technique a better option than the other. But of course I don't have that info, so it's up to you :D

i just registered to this forum so i could post the solution to this annoying problem. so, for the benefit of anyone finding this thread on google, here is the solution:

first select all your objects, group them (ctrl +g) and then go to filters > ABCs > black outline
yeah, its that simple.
