I'm new to Inkscape, having spent the last year of my life working in Visio. In Visio, you can create a calendar through a wizard function, and its quick and easy. However, visio documents are ugly, which is why Im trying out Inkscape. Does anyone know of a template the I can use to create calendars (that auto-configures based on month selected, etc.) or if a calendar wizard extension exists? Im looking forward the design capabilities of Inkscape, but I'm also not trying to spend hours setting up a calendar every time.

There is an extension to render calendar, I think it's what you need. You can find it under Extensions > Render > Calendar.
