If I want to trace an image in the individual colors of the bitmap so each color of the bitmap is scanned in the shape it appears in the bitmap is that possible? Example Apple I want only red being the apple and another layer for the green leaves. Thank you.

To my experience not, there is average of the colours involved somehow.
You can get closer results to it if there are only a few contrasting colours in the raster image and you chose the number of colours right.

Using the dropper tool (D) can always come handy.
