SVG Viewer Extension for Windows Explorer

Postby helpy » Wed Jan 23, 2013 6:33 am

Hello all,

Found an explorer extension today and tried it under Windows 7 64 bit SP1.

First impressions:
- Till now it works without problems
- SVGs now are shown with thunbnails
- One flaw: clipped images/drawings are not shown correctly

The software is in alpha state:

Welcome to InkscapeForum!

Wow, it looks like it's been out for almost a year, yet I haven't heard of it! Surprising since we've had so very many requests for such thing. I've just downloaded, and I'll post my experience in a day or 2. Thanks for the info :D

(Inkscape doesn't even show clipped images correctly, lol!)

Edit
Oh wow, didn't even need a restart. It starts working immediately! Very nice, works well, and no problems so far :D

Thank you for the welcome :-)

It was my first post after two years of membership.

I am using Inkscape now for several years at home.

For about a year I use Inkscape the most for technical drawings at work.
The company switched to CMS (editorial system) for creating technical documents, online help for software, catalogs and the company website.
This system uses SVGs, because they are in xml format an can be easily translated.

greetings,
guido
