grid alignment on inline shape not on middle of outline

Postby v1nce_2009 » Wed Mar 03, 2010 5:49 am

Hi,

Is it possible to make grid alignment on inline boundaries instead of middle of outline ?

Let's say I got a 32*32px page with a 1x1 grid. If I want to draw shapes with a 1px wide outline and If i want the shape to be "pixel aligned" I need to offset the origin at 0.5,0.5. Otherwise alignment will "fail" (fall in between pixel).

Thank you

You can't change where on the object snapping is applied, but as you figured it out yourself you can change the grid (create 2 grids, one 0.5 offset so you can snap objects with even or odd number strokes).

Or use the Pixelsnap extension (search the forum to find and install it).

thank you.

a 0.5 0.5 grid is just fine.

offseting my 1x1 by 0.5 just didn't work.
I will try to figure out why later (the grid seemed to be shifted 1/10 pixel instead of 1/2. strange)
