I created a logo and now I need to save it as a 50 x 50 PNG file.

Is this the best way:
Resize the page to 50x50.
Hunt and find the page way down off the bottom of the screen.
Drag my logo into the page... piece by piece.
Hit SAVE as a cairo image.

Some questions:
Is their a way to move my 'page' to 0x0 and size to 50x50, quickly?
Is cairo a standard Mac OSX PNG file type?
Is there a way to *START* my work with a 50x50 page that fills the entire screen?

Select your entire drawing, go to file menu/export bitmap, in the dialogue box that comes up at the very top depress selection (not page or drawing) and then click export at the bottom. You're done!
Do not use the export as Cairo PNG unless you know that this has been recently fixed...

You can create a blank page of the size you want and save it as a template in the share/templates folder. Then you can open it quickly from file/new every time. I fthis is the only - or main - size you work in then you can call this template default.svg and and it will open automatically when you start inkscape.
also, under file/document properties/page/custom size you can click on the little plus sign in front of resize page to content to get the choice of changing your page size to fit the current drawing or the selection.

This is Windows advice. If you are on a mac some things may not apply. This is also for the 0.48pre version.

1. Use the Selector Tool (F1, space bar) and select all elements of your Logo.

2. >File >Document Properties (Shift+Ctrl+D), the Document Properties Menu there is a button labelled "Fit page to selection" This will MOVE the page to your drawing..
